Design and Display
The 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 is not Samsung’s biggest handset; that distinction goes to the new 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega , which itself is trumped by Sony’s gargantuan 6.4- inch Xperia Z Ultra. When it comes to giant-screen handsets, what’s acceptable to carry and hold evolves over time: for us, the Galaxy Note 3 feels fine to hold to the ear for voice calls.

The Galaxy Note 3‘s 5.7-inch screen uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology and its full-HD resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels gives it a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch (ppi). This is a big step up from the Galaxy Note 2’s 1,280-by-720 pixels and 267ppi.Galaxy Note 3 display

Multi Window/ Multi tasking
Multi Window/ Multi tasking mode is one of our favorite proprietary Samsung phone features because it provides the desktop-like experience of placing two apps side by side.

Galaxy Note 3 multi-window

With the Note 3, Samsung has added the ability to place two windows from the same app next to each other, which was particularly useful when we wanted to look at two Web pages at the same time.

Camera
The Galaxy Note 3’s 13-MP, rear-facing camera provides some of the sharpest, brightest and most colorful images we’ve seen on any smartphone, easily offering more detail than do competitors such as the iPhone 5s.

The Note 3′s 2-MP, front-facing camera also captures high-quality photos. An image of faces that was shot in a shadowy area was still bright, and showed every follicle in their beard.

Hardware and Processor
It’s an LTE/HSPA+ handset, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC comprising a 2.3GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 GPU, supported by 3GB of RAM. These specifications put the Galaxy Note 3 at the current pinnacle of power for a smartphone/phablet.

To keep you fully stocked with apps, games and movies, the Note 3 sports ample storage with either 32GB or 64GB built-in, depending on model, of which the operating system takes up 5.64GB of space.

A microSD card slot also stands ready to add up to another 64GB, should you need more.

The Galaxy Note 3 runs Android 4.3 “Jelly Bean” and has unfettered access to all the Google apps.

Stylus-pen
Samsung’s ‘S Pen’ stylus also has a high potential for being relegated to just a gimmick. For the most part, there’s little you can do with the stylus that you can’t with a finger, which is often quicker and more convenient.

The NOTE 3′s ‘Air command’ function brings up a circular quick action menu that allows you to annotate a screenshot, but also provides access to ‘Pen Window’.

Pen Window allows you to perform multi-window multi-tasking, by drawing out a window of your desired size with the stylus that you can fill with a select few apps that include Google Hangouts, a browser and a calculator.

Some of the drawing and annotation functions within Samsung’s apps such as S Note, SketchBook and Scrapbook could be useful for someone who can draw well.

Battery
Galaxy Note 3 has a large battery – its capacity is 3,200mAh. That’s 100mAh up from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, in order to compensate for the larger, higher-resolution screen. … Stamina is acceptable, but we found it to be less remarkable than the second Note.
