With the original Samsung Galaxy S7 already sporting water and dust resistance despite its glass finish, the need for an Active variant was diminished, yet Samsung clearly sees demand for a rugged flagship.

Design and Display
The Galaxy S7 Active features a more rubberized body. Like previous Active devices, the rubber build does result in quite a thick phone that is honestly a little bit bulky.

It gives way to weatherproof casing that’s MIL-STD-810G military certified against some of the harshest elements.
Its colossal dimensions are 148.8 x 74.9 x 9.9mm.
Its pixel-saturated Quad HD resolution pumps the 5.1-inch screen with more pixels than we actually need in a phone of this size, especially one that can’t fit into the Samsung Gear VR.
Always-On Display
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active’s 5.1-inch, 2560 x 1440 display is now always-on, allowing you to quickly check things like the time, date and battery life without unlocking the device. Always-on mode is designed to drain just 1 percent of the battery per hour, so it doesn’t drain the Active’s already-epic battery life.
Camera
Galaxy S7 Active’s is one of the best. Retaining the same 12-MP dual-pixel camera that makes the standard S7 our current favorite camera phone, the Active took rich, detailed photos, even under less-than-favorable weather conditions.
The Active’s front 5-MP camera takes impressive selfies, capturing individual stubs of hair on my beard while doing justice to your skin tone.
Hardware and processor
It is a rugged Android phone that takes everything we loved about the Samsung Galaxy S7.
Unfortunately, the Galaxy S7 Active, which ships with Android Marshmallow, has the same heavy-handed TouchWiz skin as the rest of the GS7 lineup. What’s more, the device is littered with bloatware, thanks to Samsung’s tie-up with AT&T. This phone comes with 4GB of RAM, but when multitasking it feels identical if not slower to switch between apps.
It runs an operating system of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which is upgradable to 7.0 (Nougat)
Resistant
Rated IP68, the Galaxy S7 Active is supposed to survive submersion in 5 feet of water (1.5 meters) for 30 minutes, but our further testing with the device found that’s not consistently true.
Battery and charging
More screens means more battery consumption. Battery life on the Galaxy S7 Active is even better than it is on the original, thanks to a larger 4,000mAh battery. The phone lasted 10 hours and 30 minutes in our rundown test, in which was stream full-screen video over LTE at maximum brightness.
Adaptive Fast Charging charges your Galaxy S7 up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes/ normal fast charging which is equipped with (Quick Charge 2.0)
